Create your own Street View on Google

A new tool has been revealed by Google which allows users to create and share their own Street View from any location.

The Street View, which can show a 360 degree virtual tour of anywhere in the world, is created by connecting a selection of photos and can then be published and shared on Google Maps to allow users to navigate between them.

It is hoped that the release of this tool will broaden the reach and encourage the use of the Google Maps service.

In a recent blog post, the firm said “We are excited to see the different types of Street View experiences that everyone will contribute,”

“For example, this feature can now enable environmental non-profits to document and promote the beautiful places they strive to protect.

“It also opens up a new tool for photographers to showcase diversity in a specific location – by times of day, weather conditions or cultural events – in a way that Street View currently doesn’t cover.”
